I Would Have A Personal Blog

Finding a topic for my hypothetical professional blog wouldn’t be a difficult task. I would definitely write about my life. Not only is a broad and interesting subject that can be developed from many different perspectives, but it also a very personal one; actually, the most personal one. Getting to know others’ vital experiences is always an enriching and fascinating pastime. By discovering their anecdotes, interests, secrets, achievements, and motivations, the readers start to establish an intimate connection with the blogger.  The more they learn about the person hidden behind the screen, the closer they feel from him and the more they care about him.

Building a relationship of trust between the writer and the audience is key for a successful blog. For me, a personal blog would be the best choice in order to win the readers’ confidence and keep their attention. I have been blessed with a singular and exceptional life that anyone would be intrigued to listen to, so I must take advantage of that. However, as amazing as the story is, the way it’s told will define how good it really is. Keeping this in mind, I would opt for an honest, optimistic, and comic point of view of the reality, my reality. The narrator of my blog would be as self-deprecating and sincere as the person I am. Being the authentic me would probably be the easiest aspect of having a personal blog.

The difficult part would be selecting the content for my blog. Firstly, I would have to think about the target audience, the type of readers to whom my posts would be directed. Teenagers, college students, soccer fans, mass media enthusiasts; the options are endless. However, to maximize my probabilities of success, I would choose topics that can appeal to the general audience. Anyone with basic reading skills and curiosity about someone’s life experiences could become one of my blog’s followers. Secondly, it is essential to keep a continuous correlation between the target public and the content offered. Although it would be a personal blog, some of my vital anecdotes must remain personal because they wouldn’t be adequate for a global audience.

Then, what kind of stories would I share? As I said before, my life has been quite interesting. I will give more details in my next post, but in general I would describe my twenty years of Earth’s existence as a fight of perseverance. I discovered soccer when I was four years old and since then I never wanted to stop playing it. It might sound like a beautiful love story between a girl and a soccer ball, but it is way more complex than that. Believe me, my soccer career is not an ordinary one. By the age of nine, doctors told me I couldn’t play anymore. When I was eleven, I had surgery twice within a period of six months. Meanwhile, I was injecting hormones to myself every single night for two years. Some years later, I was recruited by one of the most renowned soccer clubs in Spain. Then, I decided to pursue my American dream.

And here I am. This is my sophomore year as Valdosta State University student-athlete, enjoying my best life. I have had to overcome many obstacles to be where I am today and to become the person that I proudly am. My story is unique, and it could inspire anyone willing to read about it. That is why it would be the perfect topic for my professional personal blog.
